Punt LilaSIBE 2025 – GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE RESPONSE TEAM
During the SIBE/IASPM-Spain/ICTMD-Spain Conference, a Gender-Based Violence Response Team will be in place, composed of volunteer members. Our aims are to reaffirm our collective rejection of any form of abusive behaviour during the XVIII SIBE Conference and to provide support and guidance to victims, should the situation require it. We would like to remind all attendees that, in accordance with the SIBE Code of Ethics, every member of the society is responsible for treating colleagues with dignity and fostering an environment that ensures equal opportunities and full participation within the professional community. Consequently, members of the SIBE/IASPM-Spain/ICTMD-Spain community should be able to take part in the conference without undue restrictions that may hinder their full professional development. Through this initiative, the organising bodies are committed to eradicating behaviours that violate these principles. Examples of unacceptable conduct include (but are not limited to):
Any participant who feels they are experiencing gender-based violence during the conference or at any related social event is encouraged to approach any member of this team. Support and guidance will be provided as needed. You can contact the team through the following channels:
If you witness a situation during the conference or at a related social event that you believe may involve gender-based violence, do not hesitate to reach out to us. As a victim, contacting us does not commit you to initiating any formal (administrative or legal) proceedings. Please reach out if you need someone to talk to. We will listen and discuss your options, in order to support you in the way you choose. Please note that this team is not a legal body. Should you wish to pursue administrative or legal action, we will assist you in getting in touch with the relevant persons or organisations. These may include the SIBE Executive Board or specialist associations equipped to support victims of gender-based violence, if necessary. |
